17th July 2020: CEO Update.
It's certainly been a busy month here at Incent. We continue to experience viral growth, and we continue to be thankful for the support of our community and our verified streamers. Unfortunately, we are now seeing increasing activity which is in direct contravention of our terms and conditions, and so we are obliged to implement some updated rules and guidance to ensure the success of this project. These new measures are designed as safeguards for both us and our community, and I would welcome your support and help in implementing them.
As follows, and with immediate effect:
- We will no longer support 24/7 streams. Whilst our core mission is to incentivise live creative content - 24 hour streams have been a target of mass farming activity across the network, and is becoming unsustainable.
- We will no longer support pre-recorded streams or pre-recorded content. Whilst our intent is to eventually support VOD content, we are not a position to do so as yet.
- We will no longer support viewers in the same home, claiming your codes. Incent was designed as a tool to help content creators attract new users - not to give out value to your roommates or family.
- We are also in the process of reviewing our verification process, and, as always - we update you with any changes. Any violation of these rules will result in account suspension.
Finally, we want Incent to work for content creators and their audience, so that both can increase their wealth. What nefarious activity represents is a leakage of value from everyone else. It is on all of us to detect, police and stop this behaviour. Your continued vigilance in this regard is most appreciated. R
